Ghislain is currently responsible for the store operations and the stock movement inside Natec Medical, while he is charge of reviewing levels of supplies and ensuring inventory compliance. His role does help us anticipate future needs which will cover the direct demand from our customers. Aside from some of his responsibilities at Natec, there is a lot more to discover in this Q&A. So, let’s get on a more personal level with Ghislain, our Inventory Lead!
Tell me about yourself.
Kobe Bryant, the basketball legend, and I are birthdate twins. Since I was fourteen, I started off juggling in between different part-time jobs in the F&B industry. However, after completing my studies, I started a career in Logistics & Supply Chain where I’ve already acquired over 14 years’ experience.
I also had the great opportunity to travel and work in overseas in both the UK and Australia.
I like to think of myself as a simple guy who would socialise with anybody.
An inspiring story how you started and reached to where you are today.
As a young kid, I was very shy and chubby but very active. I played darts with my 3 elder brothers since the age of six and I was runner-up of the national championship at the age of thirteen.
At the age of nine, I started playing basketball. I won 7 straight national championships with my team from 1999 to 2006. During those years I was awarded on several occasions the best player of the national league and twice became MVP of the Indian Ocean.
The whole experience has essentially forged my work ethics and my team spirit.
What motivates you in your everyday life?
Facing and accepting new challenges with the help of my better half.
Who is your mentor / source of inspiration?
My parents have been a great source of inspiration. My mother was the perfect figure of authority and leadership. My father inspired us with his hard-working mentality and his integrity.
What are your Hobbies?
Basketball, Fishing, Jogging.
What’s your motto / most inspirational quote?
‘A ship in a harbour is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for…’
When it’s all over, how do you want to be remembered? (What impact do you wish to have at Natec also towards your personal aspirations)
To be remembered as a someone who’s door was always open, ready to help and motivate others.
“In one word, describe yourself.”
