At the end of 2020, we were pleased to announce our partnership and consignment agreement with the C-Care group to have some Natec Medical products used at Wellkin hospital. This move signals Natec’s intent to remain at the forefront of the medical industry.

C-Care is a Mauritian private healthcare group, owning and operating the two main private healthcare facilities in Mauritius, namely Clinique Darné and Wellkin Hospital.

The group is committed to provide the best quality healthcare in Mauritius and in the region by leveraging the very best medical expertise and latest healthcare technology in a wide range of specialties. At Natec we pride on delivering cutting edge technology to our stakeholders, both on a regional and international level.

Our Ebony PTA catheters used at Welkin Hospital

Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) procedures are not yet widespread in Mauritius, but several doctors, notably in Wellkin and Darné, perform these procedures to treat peripheral arterial diseases and aim to make them more accessible to Mauritians. Minimally invasive approaches have become the preferred treatment options.

The prevalence of diabetes in Mauritius is one of the highest in the world. Nearly 20% of the population above the age of 30 years and nearly one in two of those above 50 years suffer from diabetes, according to the World Diabetes Foundation.

Our Ebony PTA for instance can be used to treat lower limb ischemia in diabetic patients whose arterial occlusive disease is often localized to lower extremity arteries.

Our products will help save lives everyday in Mauritius

Thanks to this consignment agreement with Wellkin, Natec pursues its mission of saving lives everyday locally in Mauritius. As a result, Natec is helping physicians make PTA procedures more accessible to Mauritians, by providing high quality balloon catheters at an affordable price as they are domestically produced.

This agreement also allows us to work in close collaboration with doctors, consequently enabling us to better understand the user needs on the field, what challenges they might face during a case and how our products can be more efficient.

Additionally, Natec employees have the opportunity to observe procedures and acquire knowledge from doctors about the nature of each cases.

As a medical device manufacturer our responsibility starts with a clear and accurate understanding of our customer needs. By putting a lot more focus on local clinical trials, we can gather feedback and technical data, which will help us continuously improve our products and maintain our product certification.
